Aber eines ist vorhersehbarer als alles andere: Wie ein Uhrwerk wird sich alle paar Jahre ein Mitglied der Kennedy-Dynastie auf der nationalen Bühne bemerkbar machen. Die erste tat dies 1884, 35 Jahre nach der Ankunft der Familie aus Irland. Der letzte, Robert F. Es sagt etwas über die Gesundheit der US-Politik aus, dass die Schlagzeile „Kennedy will Biden für das Weiße Haus herausfordern“ seit Ende der 1970er Jahre in nahezu jedem Wahljahr hätte geschrieben werden können.
